SZA’s SOS Tour, the first arena tour of her career, has officially grossed $113.1 million across 67 shows globally, pulling in more than 807,000 fans. This cements her as only the fourth Black woman—following Tina Turner, Beyoncé, and Rihanna—to cross the $100 million milestone with a single tour.

The success of the SOS Tour isn’t just a commercial victory; it’s a cultural milestone that reflects SZA’s meteoric rise in the music industry. From her vulnerable beginnings to becoming one of the defining voices in modern R&B, this tour represents the full-circle moment of an artist now headlining—and selling out—arenas and stadiums.

The Evolution of SZA’s Career

SZA’s debut studio album, Ctrl, dropped in 2017 and became a cult classic almost instantly. The album explored themes of love, self-worth, and vulnerability with a fresh lyrical style, resonating with millions. Hits like “Love Galore” and “The Weekend” launched her into the mainstream, leading to her first headlining run, the Ctrl the Tour, which spanned North America and Oceania.

After five years of anticipation, SOS arrived in late 2022 and exceeded all expectations. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and remained there for 10 nonconsecutive weeks, a feat not achieved by a female R&B artist since Mariah Carey in the '90s. Tracks like “Kill Bill,” “Snooze,” and “Good Days” dominated charts, with “Kill Bill” becoming the third-best-selling single of 2023.

SZA walked into the 2024 Grammys as the most-nominated artist with nine nods and walked away with multiple wins, including Best Progressive R&B Album for SOS and Best R&B Song for “Snooze.”

Launched in February 2023 and concluding in May 2024, the SOS Tour was a visually stunning, emotionally charged arena tour that spanned North America, Europe, and Oceania. The show drew from theatrical elements, inspired by films like Kill Bill and Titanic, and presented SZA as both a pop star and performance artist.

With 67 shows, an average gross of $1.9 million per night, and multiple sold-out performances in iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and The Kia Forum, the SOS Tour became the 38th highest-grossing tour of 2023, and ultimately surpassed $113 million in total revenue.

In April 2025, SZA joined forces with Kendrick Lamar for the Grand National Tour, which has already grossed over $100 million from just 10 shows—tying for the fastest in history to hit that mark. The stadium tour features collaborative and solo sets, further showcasing SZA’s global stardom.

What This Means for Music & Representation

SZA’s entry into the $100 million club is not just about numbers. It’s about representation, longevity, and breaking barriers:

  • Only the Fourth Black Woman in history to gross over $100 million from a single tour.

  • One of the Few R&B Artists to headline arena and stadium tours on such a massive scale.

  • Proof of Fan Loyalty and Critical Praise, translating art into historic commercial success.

From vulnerability to victory, SZA's journey is one of transformation, and she’s still rising.
