The Street Fighter franchise has always been about larger-than-life characters, lightning-fast fights, and that sweet rush of victory when you land a perfect combo. Now, the beloved Capcom series is levelling up to the big screen once again, with a live-action reboot slated for release on October 16, 2026.
Unlike the campy 1994 version, this reboot is bringing real Hollywood muscle — literally — to the fight, and the cast is already turning heads.
The Big-Name Fighters Taking the Stage
Andrew Koji as Ryu – A martial arts actor with serious chops (Warrior, Bullet Train), Koji brings the disciplined energy fans have always wanted for the stoic world warrior.
Noah Centineo as Ken Masters – Once Netflix’s rom-com darling, Centineo has bulked up and reinvented himself for a fiery new role as Ryu’s best friend and rival.
Jason Momoa as Blanka – From Aquaman to the Amazon, Momoa now trades his trident for electricity-charged fury. His casting as the feral fighter might just be the boldest (and wildest) choice yet.
Cody Rhodes as Guile – WWE superstar and reigning Undisputed Champion, Rhodes steps into the iconic flat-top haircut and American flag tattoos, bringing wrestling theatrics to Guile’s military swagger.
Roman Reigns as Akuma – Another wrestling powerhouse, Reigns has the look, presence, and raw intimidation to embody Street Fighter’s most fearsome villain.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog – Rap mogul, actor, and entrepreneur, 50 Cent steps into the gloves of the bruiser boxer, adding streetwise grit to the lineup.
David Dastmalchian as M. Bison – Hollywood’s favourite eccentric villain, Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Oppenheimer) brings a sinister touch to the megalomaniac overlord.
Street Fighter Takes the Stage
This reboot feels different. The casting swings for the fences by mixing Hollywood action stars, WWE champions, and even a rap legend. It’s not just about faithful adaptations of the characters — it’s about making Street Fighter a pop culture event.
And let’s not forget: the reveal itself was genius. Paramount announced the roster with a nostalgic nod to the original Street Fighter II character-select screen, instantly firing up fans online.
The countdown is on: October 16, 2026. With Jason Momoa shocking the screen as Blanka, Andrew Koji throwing Hadoukens as Ryu, and WWE titans bringing heavy hits as Guile and Akuma, this reboot is shaping up to be the wildest “world warrior tournament” yet.
The only question left: will this Street Fighter film finally score a “perfect” — or end up just another flashy combo that doesn’t land?
