At this year's Glastonbury festival, breakthrough music star Doechii didn't just make her debut — she paid tribute with a style-leading, unapologetic statement. Sweeping center stage at the West Holts stage on Saturday night, rapper-singer Doechii scorched on performance and fashion in a way that was at once intimate and deeply British. And to make it happen, there was only one designer who felt right: the late, great Vivienne Westwood.
"It's an iconic British festival, so we wanted an iconic British designer," said Sam Woolf, Australian-born stylist of Doechii, in an interview with Vogue prior to the show. "Vivienne Westwood was a no-brainer. She's a brand Doechii has always loved."
Known for her genre-defying sound and unapologetically bold style — whether in preppy Thom Browne at the Grammys or cool-girl Miu Miu at the BET Awards — Doechii used her Glastonbury appearance to celebrate hip-hop, punk, and personal identity, all while tipping her hat to British fashion history.
Look One: Doechii’s School of Hip-Hop
The first outfit set the tone for her themed set, titled Doechii’s School of Hip-Hop. She appeared on stage flanked by dancers dressed as “classmates,” all in Westwood looks with their own distinct twist. Her outfit — a tartan mini skirt with a dramatic tutu bustle paired with a cropped shirt — mixed school uniform nostalgia with punk attitude.
It's preppy, playful, and sexy," Woolf added. "Very camp Vivienne Westwood." The style was a tribute to uniqueness — each dance had a unique Westwood piece, making for a multicolored, chaotic, expressive hip-hop studio.
Look Two: A Kate Moss Revival
Then came the showstopper — a bold reimagining of one of the most iconic runway looks of the '90s. Doechii emerged in a striped micro mini skirt based on the legendary outfit worn by Kate Moss in Westwood’s Spring 1994 Café Society show. In place of Moss’s topless walk, Doechii’s version featured a bralette with the Vivienne Westwood orb logo as nipple pasties — a cheeky nod to the original.
"It doesn't do a lot for support," Woolf laughed, "but it swoops into this sultry, office siren vibe." It was provocative, powerful, and so Doechii.
Look Three: Naomi Campbell-Inspired Elegance
For her final look, Doechii borrowed from Naomi Campbell, another supermodel who added to Westwood's '90s aesthetic. She wore a striped top and coordinating pants inspired by Campbell's own Spring 1994 show look. While not a copy, it was a subtle reference — a style Easter egg for Westwood faithful.
It's not a case of 'That's the Naomi Campbell look,'" Woolf explained. "It's more of, if you know, you know."

A Love Letter to British Fashion Icons
Glastonbury is as much cultural moment as it is music festival — and what better setting in which to rave up UK style icons? With her three ensembles, Doechii paid tribute to two of the greatest women ever to tread British catwalks — Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell — under the revolutionary vision of Vivienne Westwood. It was punk, fun, and timely.
"Glastonbury was the ideal opportunity to pay homage to them," Woolf explained. "Kate is such a style icon for this festival — it felt right."
And perhaps somewhere in the VIP tent, Kate Moss herself was dancing the night away, 30 years after breaking fashion history with a mini skirt, a wink, and a Magnum ice cream.
