Oscar Piastri to Have Grandstand Named in His Honour at 2026 Australian Grand Prix

Australian Formula 1 star Oscar Piastri will receive a career-defining honour when a grandstand at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit is named after him for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix.
The Piastri Grandstand will be located on the main straight, directly opposite the McLaren garage, giving fans a prime view of their hometown hero in action. Piastri joins a select group of Australians—Sir Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Mark Webber, and Daniel Ricciardo—who already have stands at Albert Park.
Rapid Rise
At just 24 years old, Piastri has quickly established himself as one of the sport’s brightest young talents. Since making his Formula 1 debut in 2023, he has collected eight race wins, 22 podium finishes, four pole positions, and seven fastest laps.
His 2025 season has been particularly impressive, with six race victories, making him the most successful Australian driver in a single F1 season since the championship began in 1950.
Piastri’s Reaction
The McLaren driver described the honour as a “surreal” moment.
“To see fans cheering from a grandstand with my name on it, right across from the McLaren garage, is going to be something truly special,” Piastri said.
