Tokyo is about to get a whole lot more magical this summer as the highly anticipated Harry Potter Shop Harajuku officially opens its doors on August 14, 2025. Located at 6-31-17 Jingumae in the heart of Harajuku, this flagship store promises fans an immersive journey into the wizarding world, blending J.K. Rowling’s iconic universe with the vibrant fashion and culture of Tokyo’s trendiest district.

A Store Inspired by the Forbidden Forest

Stepping inside, visitors will find themselves transported into a scene straight out of Hogwarts. Designed with inspiration from the mystical Forbidden Forest, the store features lifelike owls, towering enchanted trees, and a majestic Buckbeak the Hippogriff. The attention to detail ensures that every corner offers a touch of magic, making it more than just a retail space—it’s a full sensory experience.

Harry Potter Multi-Level Wizarding Experience

The Harajuku store spans two floors, each offering a unique slice of the wizarding world.

  • First Floor Highlights:

    • Harajuku-Exclusive Merchandise – From fashion items to stationery, these collectibles are only available at this location.

    • House Pride Section – Show allegiance to Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin with apparel, scarves, and accessories.

  • Second Floor Highlights:

    • MinaLima Art Corner – Featuring exclusive prints and designs by the artists behind the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film graphics.

    • Wand & Robe Personalisation – Choose your wand and customise your Hogwarts robes with your name.

    • Honeydukes Confectionery – Stock up on Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans, and other magical treats, complete with a Chocolate Frog card-style photo op.

    • Butterbeer Bar – Tokyo’s first in-town Butterbeer location outside the studio tour, offering wizarding favourites along with exclusive Harajuku specials like the “Buckbeak Bun – Pizza Flavor.”

The Harajuku opening follows the July 17 relaunch of the Harry Potter Shop Akasaka, formerly known as Mahou-Dokoro Wizarding World Street. In the lead-up to the Harajuku launch, fans can also look forward to a Butterbeer truck roaming Harajuku on August 9–10, serving as a tasty teaser before the grand opening.

From exclusive merchandise to immersive set designs, the Harry Potter Shop Harajuku offers far more than just shopping—it’s a destination for both die-hard fans and curious newcomers. With its location in one of Tokyo’s most stylish neighbourhoods, the store is set to become a landmark for wizarding world enthusiasts visiting Japan.
